IPL · Fort Collins

IPL photofacials for clearer, more even-toned skin.

Intense pulsed light is one of the most effective tools for sun damage and visible redness. At Zendai Spa, every IPL session begins with a careful look at your skin — not a preset setting.

What an IPL photofacial is

IPL delivers broad-spectrum light through a handpiece placed gently against the skin. That light is absorbed by pigment and by the tiny blood vessels behind flushing, which the body then gradually breaks down and clears.

Unlike a laser, IPL covers a range of wavelengths, so Amy can filter and adjust it to what your skin needs — brown spots on one area, diffuse redness on another. Most people see change across a short series of sessions rather than all at once.

Who it may suit

  • Sun spots, age spots and freckling from years of Colorado sun
  • Persistent redness, flushing or visible capillaries
  • Uneven or dull tone across the face, neck, chest or hands
  • Clients who want visible improvement without surgical downtime

IPL isn't right for everyone. Recent tanning, certain medications, pregnancy and deeper skin tones may call for a different approach — Amy will screen for this at your consultation.

Potential benefits

  • A more even, balanced complexion
  • Softening of sun spots and brown patches
  • Reduced appearance of redness and broken capillaries
  • Minimal downtime — most clients return to their day

Results vary from person to person and depend on skin or tissue condition, consistency and home care. Amy will talk through realistic expectations at your consultation.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How many IPL sessions will I need?

+

Many clients do a series of three to five sessions about four weeks apart, then maintenance once or twice a year. Amy will suggest a plan based on what she sees.

Does IPL hurt?

+

Most people find it very tolerable. It feels like a brief warm snap against the skin, and the cooling gel helps.

Is there downtime?

+

Usually very little. Mild pinkness can last a few hours, and pigment may look darker before it flakes away over about a week.

Can I do IPL in summer?

+

It's best done when you can avoid significant sun exposure. Fall through spring is the most common season in Fort Collins, but Amy can advise on timing.
